Well to start it out with a little update, I am at home. I have been on winter break for a little over two weeks now. It is nice to be home and see my Dad, Mom, Sister, Brother-in-law and dog, Sammy. Jackie, my sister who lives in Wichita, was even able to come home. I love my family a lot. I think the Christmas season enhances those feelings. The first Monday that I was at home, I got my wisdom teeth out, which kind of really sucked, but I guess it gave me an excuse to sleep in, eat lots of ice cream, and watch movies for a few days. I haven't seen a ton of my friends this break, which is really unusual, but I know that by the end of break, I will see everyone I love and want to see. I am trying to take advantage of the beautiful weather and snow here in Chicago; I think we have been blessed with this snow. Too often, it is just cold and gross out, but this winter we have been getting loads of the white, fluffy stuff. LOVE IT. Going back to school on the 4th will definitely be bittersweet. I love not taking tests and writing papers yet I also love school and all my friends so much. Good thing I will just be hanging around with my sorority sisters for a few days before starting classes again.
This upcoming semester will be extremely busy. I am taking the maximum in credit hours with classes like Theology (Paul and His Legacy... don't really know what to expect...), Atmospheric Sciences (EW), History (EW times 5), Art History (Boring.), Ceramics (Talk about time consuming...), and Photography (SO EXCITED). On top of class/school, I was elected Philanthropy Chair for my Sorority (Gamma Phi Beta), I will be house-hunting with my future roommates, and I will be helping to lead a Bible Study.
I like to be busy. I love crawling into my bed at night feeling like I accomplished a ton that day. However, I need to make sure I am keeping my priorities straight. I need to keep the LORD at top. I need to focus on Him and continue living completely for Him. I tend to rely on myself way too much. This thing that I like so much tends to be one of my greatest flaws. As much as I dislike admitting when I am wrong or asking others for help, I have a feeling I am going to be doing a lot of that this upcoming semester. As nervous as I am for holding an important leadership position, taking a billion classes, looking into studying abroad and working in a completely different state this upcoming summer, I know everything will work out just the way the Lord planned. I need to trust in HIM and make HIM my focus. Easier said than done?
